1. Introduction

ExportAlpha ("we," "our," or "us") provides video background removal and export services. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Account Information

When you sign in with Google OAuth, we collect your name, email address, and profile picture from your Google account.

2.2 Uploaded Files and Results (Videos and Images)

Uploaded videos and images, and the files we produce from them, are deleted automatically 7 days after processing finishes. Uploads that never finish processing (including failed or abandoned jobs) are deleted automatically 7 days after upload. If you separately and explicitly submit a result to the Community Showcase, we preserve only the media you selected in a separate showcase copy until you withdraw it or we remove it. We retain job metadata (upload date, processing status, credit usage) for account management and abuse prevention.

2.3 Payment Information

Payment processing is handled by Stripe. We do not store your credit card information. Stripe collects billing details, payment card information, and transaction records according to their privacy policy.

2.4 Usage Data

We collect information about how you use our service, including upload timestamps, processing duration, export formats selected, and credit usage. When we decide whether to issue free signup credits, we may store a one-way hash of the visitor IP address and the Google display name. We use those signals only to keep the free trial fair — so the same person cannot collect extra free credits by opening more accounts from the same network or name. We do not use them to refuse sign-in, uploads, or paid use. The limit itself is described in our Terms of Service.

2.5 Analytics

We use Microsoft Clarity automatically to understand how visitors use ExportAlpha, replay sessions, diagnose errors, and improve usability. Clarity may collect device and browser information, pages viewed, approximate location, clicks, scrolling, navigation, and other interaction data. Microsoft processes this information under its own privacy terms. Clarity is not used by us to serve advertising.

Google Analytics and Plausible are optional and load only if you accept optional analytics. Declining those optional tools does not disable Microsoft Clarity and does not affect video processing. We store your optional analytics choice in your browser.

2.6 Feedback

When you use the feedback widget, we store your feedback category, message, current page, browser language, submission time, and any optional email address or handle you provide. If you are signed in, the submission may be linked to your account so we can understand and respond to the issue.

2.7 Public testimonials

If you open an invite link and submit a homepage quote, or otherwise separately agree, we store the words you sent, a star rating, the name or role you chose, and the time of that consent. Submissions are reviewed before they appear on the site. We may link the quote to your account and show your Google profile photo from that account. We do not publish product feedback as a testimonial unless you separately agree.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To process your videos and provide background removal services
• To manage your account, credits, and subscriptions
• To detect and prevent abuse, fraud, and violations of our policies
• To improve our service and develop new features
• To review, respond to, and act on product feedback
• To review and publicly display Community Showcase submissions when you explicitly opt in
• To display a public testimonial you separately agreed to share
• To communicate with you about your account and our services

4. Service Providers

We use the following third-party service providers:

• Google OAuth: For authentication
• Cloudflare Workers: For hosting and compute
• Cloudflare D1: For database storage
• Cloudflare R2: For video file storage
• Cloudflare Queues: For asynchronous job processing
• AI processing providers: For background removal and export processing
• Stripe: For payment processing and billing
• Google Analytics: For aggregated website usage analytics
• Microsoft Clarity: Automatically enabled for session replay, error diagnosis, and usability insights
• Plausible: For privacy-friendly website analytics

5. Data Retention

• Private job uploads and results (finished jobs): Deleted automatically 7 days after processing finishes
• Uploads that never finish processing (failed or abandoned): Deleted automatically 7 days after upload
• Community Showcase copies: Retained until you withdraw permission or we remove the submission
• Public testimonials: Retained until you ask us to withdraw the quote or we remove it
• Account information: Retained while your account is active
• Job metadata: Retained for account management and abuse prevention
• Feedback: Retained while needed to review requests, resolve issues, and improve the service

6. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your personal information
• Correct inaccurate information
• Delete your account and associated data
• Export your data
• Opt out of marketing communications
• Withdraw a Community Showcase submission and delete its public copies
• Ask us to withdraw a published testimonial from the site

8. Children's Privacy

Our service is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 18.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the new policy and updating the "Last updated" date.
