Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using ExportAlpha ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

ExportAlpha provides AI-powered video background removal and transparent video export services. We process uploaded video files and export them with alpha channels in formats including WebM and ProRes MOV.

2.1 Session Analytics

Microsoft Clarity session replay is enabled automatically to help us diagnose errors, understand product usage, and improve the Service. It may record page navigation, clicks, scrolling, and related technical interaction data. Our Privacy Policy explains this processing and the optional analytics tools available on the Service.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use this Service. By using the Service, you represent that you are 18 or older.

4. Account Registration

You must register an account using Google OAuth to use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and for all activities under your account.

5. Credits and Subscriptions

5.1 Credit System

Processing is billed in credits. 1 credit = 1 displayed second of video (rounded to the nearest whole second) or 1 still image, with a minimum charge of 1 credit. Plans and packs share one credit pool for transparent video and still-image background removal.

5.2 Plan Credits

Subscription plans provide monthly credit allocations. Plan credits reset at the start of each billing cycle and do not roll over. Unused plan credits expire at the end of the billing period.

5.3 Pack Credits

One-time credit packs never expire. Pack credits are used after plan credits are exhausted.

Most new accounts receive 5 free credits on first sign-in so you can try the Service without a card. These promotional credits are a limited trial, not a guaranteed entitlement on every new login. To keep the trial fair, and to prevent people from collecting extra free credits by opening more accounts, we may withhold signup credits when several new accounts from the same network or the same Google display name request a trial in a short period. Sign-in, uploads, and paid credits are not blocked. Creating multiple accounts to obtain additional free credits is prohibited under our Acceptable Use Policy.

5.5 Annual Subscriptions

Annual subscriptions are prepaid for 12 months. Credits are still distributed monthly at the same rate as monthly subscriptions. Annual prepayment does not grant 12 months of credits upfront.

5.6 Refunds

Failed jobs that produce no successful output will have credits refunded to the original ledger (plan or pack). Successful processing is not refundable. Subscription fees are not refundable.

6. Service Limitations

Maximum duration: 60 seconds per video
Maximum resolution: 1080p
Maximum file size: ~200MB per upload
Concurrent jobs: 1 in-progress job at a time
Supported formats: MP4, MOV, WebM, M4V input

7. Content Ownership and Rights

You represent and warrant that:

You own or have the right to process the videos you upload
Your content does not violate any third-party rights
You have obtained all necessary permissions and releases

You retain ownership of your uploaded and processed videos. We do not claim ownership of your content.

8. Community Showcase

Community Showcase participation is optional and requires a separate affirmative submission. By submitting, you grant ExportAlpha a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, reproduce, display, and distribute the selected videos, title, use case, public name, and profile link on ExportAlpha websites and promotional channels until you withdraw the submission.

You confirm that you own the submitted content or have all permissions needed for public display, including permission from identifiable people. Submissions are reviewed before publication. We may reject or remove a submission at any time. You may withdraw an active submission from its job page; the showcase copies will be removed and deleted. Withdrawing does not affect copies already lawfully included in materials that cannot reasonably be recalled.

9. Public testimonials

We may display a short quote, star rating, and the name or role you chose on ExportAlpha after you submit the invite form or otherwise separately agree. Submissions are reviewed before publication. You can ask us to withdraw a published testimonial at support@exportalpha.com. Withdrawal removes it from the site. It does not affect copies already lawfully included in materials that cannot reasonably be recalled.

10. File Retention and Deletion

Results and uploads from finished jobs are deleted automatically 7 days after processing finishes. Uploads that never finish processing (failed or abandoned) are deleted automatically 7 days after upload. Separately authorized Community Showcase copies and public testimonials are retained until withdrawal or removal. We retain job metadata for account management and abuse prevention.

11. Prohibited Uses

See our Acceptable Use Policy for detailed prohibited uses, including but not limited to:

Adult or sexually explicit content
Content depicting minors
Non-consensual use of individuals' images
Illegal content or activities

12. Service Availability

We strive to provide reliable service but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time.

13. Quality and Results

Background removal quality depends on input video characteristics. Results may vary. We do not guarantee:

Perfect edge detection on all content
Zero flicker or temporal inconsistency
Recovery of quality lost in heavily compressed source videos

14. Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time through the Stripe Customer Portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. Unused plan credits expire. Pack credits remain available.

15. Account Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account for violations of these Terms or our Acceptable Use Policy. Terminated accounts forfeit unused plan credits.

16. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE ERROR-FREE, UNINTERRUPTED, OR MEET YOUR REQUIREMENTS.

17. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

18. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
